Restaurant, bars and function room with stunning views
of the river thames in the heart of London
The R.S. Hispaniola is a fully air-conditioned ship with a beautiful, high-quality restaurant, two bars, sun terraces and meeting room. Permanently moored on the River Thames alongside Victoria Embankment by Jubilee Footbridge in central London, convenient for public transport (Charing Cross and Embankment) and London's West End theatre district, the Hispaniola provides a relaxed, gastronomic haven amidst the city bustle. With fabulous views on both decks from St.Paul's round to the Houses of Parliament, and a beautiful river setting in the evening when the South Bank becomes a glitter of fairy lights, the Hispaniola welcomes everyone, from large parties to those wanting a romantic meal for two; from tired visitors relaxing over a morning coffee to delegates at an all-day business meeting.
Any excuse is a good excuse to visit the Hispaniola, but Father's Day is a very good ones. Dad's often get forgotten when it comes to treats so why not make this year an exception and bring your dad to lunch at the Hispaniola on Fathers Day 15th June.
Or how about joining us on Tuesday 22nd July for lunch? The river will be providing free entertainment in the form of the annual Doggett's Coat & Badge Race when young Watermen test their rowing skills by racing from London Bridge to Chelsea. Hispaniola's decks provide the perfect grandstand from which to cheer on the participants with a drink so come along and join in the fun. The food's great too!
Light meals, fine dining
The ship's kitchens are renowned for their excellent modern European cuisine with a Mediterranean twist. Talented Head Chef Ba Diakhaby has created a range of mouth-watering menus with dishes like roast whole sea bass with a warm basil and tomato vinaigrette, producing beautiful and generously presented portions.
Tapas and Lite Bites
For the ultimate in relaxed eating, tapas is served between 1100 (11am) and 2300 (11pm) (except Sundays) and, if you don't have time to eat Spanish-style, our Lite Bites, served until 1700 (5pm) (except Sundays), are specially designed for those who just want a quick snack during the day.
If time is limited but you'd like something more substantial than Lite Bites, our set lunch menu will set you up for the rest of the day. Of copurse, if you prefer to push the boat out our extensive a-la-carte menu is also available, except on Sundays.
How about Sunday lunch? Our special Sunday lunch menu is served between mid-day and 5pm when Norman Treiger, our resident pianist, will be on hand playing a selection of tunes to suit the mood. Not available in December when our Christmas menu is on offer instead.
For a quintessentially English experience, traditional afternoon tea on the sun terrace (or in the elegant restaurant if the weather is not behaving) cannot be bettered.
Special theatre menu
Going to the theatre or a concert? Hispaniola is ideally situated for the West End and our special theatre menu is designed with theatre-goers in mind.
Morning coffee, afternoon tea, fine wines and fully stocked bar
Both the Cocktail Bar and Upper Deck Bar are fully stocked with beer (bottled and draught), fine wines, spirits and soft drinks - and, of course, if you are looking to enjoy morning coffee or afternoon tea in pleasant and relaxing surroundings, there's no better venue in central London.
Restaurant and Cocktail Bar
The restaurant, which is located on the main deck and boasts the finest wine cellar anywhere on the river, is open for lunch, afternoon tea and dinner. Adjacent to the restaurant is the elegant cocktail bar where one can relax with an aperitif before a meal and digestif afterwards. On Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings the atmosphere is enhanced by our resident pianist, Norman, playing an
eclectic mix of classic tunes, own compositions and, of course, requests.
Upper deck bar and sun terraces
In addition to its own bar, the upper deck has two outside areas where one can enjoy a drink, tapas or Lite Bites al fresco. Ideal for a traditional English afternoon tea
Private parties and events
Both decks, as well as the Boardroom, are available individually or together for private events. They can be laid out for dances, dinners, theatre-style, boardroom-style or classroom-style to suit whatever type of event is required. Whether it's a wedding, birthday or anniversary party, product launch or business lunch, the R.S.Hispaniola will be right for the occasion. Need a special venue for that important conference or meeting? Check out our special delegate package.
Having had many years experience hosting hen nights, stag nights, wedding breakfasts and receptions, since 2006 R.S.Hispaniola has also been licensed to conduct and host wedding ceremonies themselves, both civil and religious.
